Texas Allied Petroleum announced that sustained commercial production of crude oil was achieved from the Main Pass 35 platform in Plaquemines Parrish, Louisiana. The company has also purchased additional working interest in the platform. In the United States, crude oil is produced in 31 states and off the coasts of Alaska, California, Louisiana, and Texas. The top crude oil producing states include Texas, Alaska, California, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. One-fourth of the crude oil is produced offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. About 58% of crude oil and petroleum products are imported due to the decreased production of crude oil while its use has been increasing. Natural gas, meanwhile, is found in 33 states with the top natural gas-producing states include Texas, Wyoming, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Colorado.
Texas Allied Petroleum utilizes different techniques in its oil and natural gas production. Some of these include water flooding, sub-surface geology, and the combination of subsurface geology and 3D seismic geophysics. Water flooding is a method whereby existing production from multi-well fields can be increased dramatically by exerting artificial pressure from the injection of water. Utilizing this strategy, they can achieve long-term production while minimizing dry hole risk. Another method is utilizing sub-surface geology to capitalize on in-field drilling opportunities which has been proven to be successful in some areas. The most reliable strategy for conventional exploration is the combination of sub-surface geology and 3D seismic geophysics. The company utilizes both of these technologies as often as possible because it minimize downside risk and maximize long and short term rewards.
